Ingredients
Handful halved pecans
2Pears
1/3cupapple juice
Spices: pinch cinnamon/ few cloves/ star anise/ cardamom
Zest of an orange
Instructions
Rinse the nuts, place on a baking tray and toast in a heated oven at 180°C for about 8 minutes.
Cut the pears in half and remove the core using a teaspoon. Place the pear halves in a saucepan with the apple juice. Sprinkle in the orange zest and the spices. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes with a lid on. Test that the pears are soft using a fork.
