Roast Cauliflower Steakes

Cauliflowers are plentiful in the winter months and this simple recipe gives them a depth of flavour that is both delicious and satisfying. Although it is called ‘‘roast” cauliflower, it is cooked on the top of the stove with a lid. This recipe also works well adding some slices of sweet squash. Making this successfully requires turning it a few times during cooking to allow the flavours to absorb on both sides.

Ingredients

  • 1 medium cauliflower
  • 1 Tsp sesame oil
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 Tsp shoyu or tamari
  • 1 Tbs fresh ginger juice

Instructions

  • Wash the cauliflower and cut it in slices, medium sizes.
  • Cook each slice on the top of the stove with a lid till they will be roasted.
