5 TIPS

for a Pandemic

ORGANIC AGRICULTURE

The hot Summer sun has given way to Autumn, the season for the harvesting and gathering in of all that has grown and borne fruit. With care and gratitude we skillfully store the fruit, vegetables and grain, so we may eat over Winter months. This has been the tradition for thousands of years. Now, we need to consider seriously the extraordinary value of the natural organic way of agriculture throughout the world, a way that does not harm soil, air, plants or ourselves with thoughtless technology, trucking and misuse of precious land.

BEING AT ONE

Autumn is also a time to witness, once again, leaves gradually colouring, then falling to nourish the earth. Many plants die while their seeds nestle in the soil ready to root and grow the following year. The pandemic asks us, indirectly, to rethink what life is. The big view of life, over millennia: the sun and moon, the stars, the sky and winds. And all living things: rich nourishing soil, insects, animals and sea creatures, algae, plants and humans. When we are quiet enough in ourselves to watch a star, or listen to an animal, we recognize how deeply we are at one with them.

03-

RESPECT
THE LIFE FORCE

Only when the life-force of all living things, including ourselves, can thrive and multiply without any chemical, additive, hormone, antibiotic, E number, or plastic wrapping, can we witness and benefit from natural health and abundance, knowing deep inside that we are at one and integral with the natural world. To survive we have to treat all life-force with humbleness, respect, patience and understanding. Not from insatiable greed, profiting from the poor health other living beings.

RESTORE
PURE WATER

Every drop of water in the world has been pure over thousands of years until 200 years ago. Now almost every ocean, river, stream or spring is seriously polluted by chemicals and poisonous substances discharged in order to save money and make a profit. Every one of us is going to take courage, time, and effort to help restore pure, healthful water to sustain all living beings.

05-

RE-THINK
OUR LIVES

We can cook healthy food, walk, exercise, love our family and care for our immune system. Now, we have to commit ourselves to the nitty gritty of actively creating a new ecological way of life. It may well be inspired by the wisdom of the past. As indigenous Americans say: we need to live our lives thinking of our children’s children’s children.
