THINGS TO DO

IN JANUARY

This period after festivities is dedicated to regain our ordinary pace and to practice your New Year’s resolutions. Take time and meditate. Here’s some suggestions to hold you sound in body and mind during January.

-01

BE MINDFUL

Enjoy contrast. We have had celebration, passed Winter Solstice – the shortest day and longest night of the year. It is cold, peaceful, wet and windy. A very special season to take time to go inside ourselves and be thoughtful about ourselves, about life.

-02

RECIPROCATE GRATITUDE

If we have a little or just enough, or plenty; when we have gratitude for it and we can smile, it spreads and gives strength and resilience.

-03

WALKING IS FREEDOM

Following the festive food, it’s time to walk further to work, especially up the escalators in stations, down them, briskly through the park or up the street.

KEEPING FIT & WELL

Exercise 10 minutes minimum at home, twist, twist, stretch, touch the toes, breath deeply, always stretch on the out breath. Breath out loudly whooooooo. Follow the MBA Body scrub/rub method described on the blog. The secret is to let go and enjoy the effort of the movement & freedom.

LIGHTEN YOUR MEAL

Now, wonderful start to eat a bit less and let the stomach gently reduce, a bit more every day. Much less cake – try whole chestnuts instead, try no pastry for a month. Instead have sourdough bread with organic humus and lots of dark green salad. Creamy vegetable soups. Bean stews. Baked apple. Still Winter warmth but very gradually preparing for cold early Spring.
