FEEL GRATEFUL
Mid-Summer was in the middle of June, now we are beginning to enter the gathering time of early Autumn. Of harvest, reaping the harvest of food, especially grain, and also the results of seeds we have sown in our lives: the ideas, projects and the plans of things we want to accomplish this year. It is gradual and happens over the next few months. The sun has moved overhead and is at a slightly lower angle daily. This creates a fine light on the land, our gardens and accomplishments and it is a good time to feel grateful for what we have done this year, however big or small, the personal achievements for ourselves and others.

BY THE RAIN
When the rain comes to feed the earth and trees that give us oxygen and shade, berries and fruit, it’s really a blessing, even if it is cooler than we think Summer is meant to be, the tip is to love summer come rain or shine. Water is essential to all life otherwise it becomes desert. Interesting thought.

CHASE RAINBOWS
If you’re not at work when the sky turns the colour of charcoal, the sun is bright and the clouds break; rush outside to watch the spectacle of the rainbow across the sky. This is nature at her best and if you happen to be picking and eating blackberries that are glistening, clean from the rain, sparkling in the rays of sunlight, this feels pretty close to heaven.

BRING ON THE BBQ
Party to celebrate the time of year, being with family, being away from family! Being outside. Suggestion, marinate tempeh overnight in a subtle mixture of organic shoyu, apple juice concentrate, lemon juice or rice vinegar and water – decide the quantities through tasting/testing yourself. Next day tempeh will have absorbed most of it. Cut into triangles ready to fry or barbecue. Serve smudged with organic mustard and fresh watercress.
Sparkling, no alcohol refresher – a bottle of cranberry juice (organic naturally), 2 bottles sparkling water, 1 bottle Copella cloudy apple, fresh squeezed orange juice, 3 good sprigs of fresh mint, dribble of apple conc’. Adjust to all ingredients to your taste.

MAKE TIME FOR YOURSELF
In a park, your garden or a friends or on your balcony, every summer day 10 minutes go out, breath deep, smile and do very active exercise, twisting from the waist, stretching the arms up and over, circle the hips both direction, stretch the legs, bend in all directions, until a bit breathless. Then enjoy 5 minutes relaxation sitting or lying down spine straight, breathing quietly into the belly. Leave at least a whole hour away from the computer before you go to bed. Turn it off, take a walk, read, listen to music, and you will sleep more deeply and replenish your emotional, mental, physical and spiritual energy. This may not work if you drink coffee after noon time.
